Programme & Ticket:

Peter Hampton replaced Billy Bremner. After Eddie Gray had given Leeds the lead in the first minute Borussia quickly equalised two minutes later with a goal from Heidereich and then Wimmer gave them a 2-1 lead in the fourth minute. There was no more scoring in the first half but no sooner had Eddie Gray equalised in the sixty-second minute than Heidereich restored his team's lead a minute later. Allan Clarke equalised for Leeds after sixty-nine minutes but surprisingly that was the full-time score. Borussia took the third place by winning 3-1 on penalties. Tony Currie was the only Leeds player to be successful and Frank Gray, Trevor Cherry and Norman Hunter all failed to hit the target. Gerrie Berrevots (Holland) was the Referee.
